This course aims at providing a profound theoretical background of teaching the English language skills. It focuses on some background issues related to the teaching and learning of the four key ‘macro-skills’ of listening, speaking, reading, and writing such as the role of the skills in language learning, the stages of a skill lesson, appropriate tasks and activities in each stage/skill. Besides, while equipping teachers-to be with the principles for teaching the four skills, the course further develops their practical classroom techniques and skills
