LISTENING AND SPEAKING 2
Instructor: John B. Bayarong
The course teaches English language skills and academic literacy to English-majored students as the second of the three-levelled courses, working towards Listening and speaking 3.
Students will further develop their language competence in order to successfully comprehend academic interaction contexts such as case studies, group discussion and presentation, problem-solution scenarios. Academic skills for giving a group presentation at length are also developed in the course.
Listening practices for main ideas and details (such as listening to lectures, guest speaker’s talks or radio interviews, and presentations) emerge with realistic situations where students will learn how vocabulary and language expressions are used in real contexts. Speaking practices will include skills for conducting surveys, expressing emotions, delivering presentation, explaining answers, and other common skills for conversations and discussions.
