This course is designed to help students get basics in the interpreting field – for either English to Vietnamese or Vietnamese into English. Throughout the course, students will have opportunities to practice dialogic and monologic interpreting regarding topics found in conference and community contexts. Since the focus of the course is on consecutive interpreting, students will be equipped mainly with theory and practice of dialogic and monologic interpreting without note-taking, besides a cursory introduction to simultaneous interpreting.
