This is the introductory training course for English language teachers-to-be. It provides some
background issues related to teaching and learning English including second language acquisition,
different teaching methods, classroom management, giving feedback. The course then develops
students’ techniques and strategies in teaching the language aspects (i.e. grammar, vocabulary,
and pronunciation) of English as a foreign language. During the lessons, students will have chance
to work with small tasks of presenting a language item or conducting a language activity to get
used to ‘teaching’ before their micro teaching demonstration at the end of the course.
