
This course is designed to meet the needs of
language-teachers-to-be by providing the students with both underpinning
theoretical background and practical knowledge on application of activities
in language teaching. In terms of theory, the course will first introduce the
significance of activities in classroom; then present the difference between
young learners and adult learners in order to choose appropriate activities;
next explain the ways to create, adapt, and evaluate activities; and finally
scrutinise into activities suitable for each language skills. In terms of
practice, this course will build up students’ practical skills in using activities
to enhance learning process through a good number of periods for hands-on
experience.
